Neiman-Marcus $250.00 cookie recipe for the taking
Let's let them have it! THIS IS A TRUE STORY!
My daughter and I had just finished a salad at a Neiman-Marcus
Cafe In Dallas and we decided to have a small dessert. Because both of
us are such cookie lovers, we decided to try the 'Neiman-Marcus cookie.'
It was So excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe, and
the waitress said with a small frown, 'I'm afraid not, but you can buy
The Recipe.' Well, I asked how much, and
she responded, ' Only two fifty - it's a Great deal!' I agreed
to that, and told her to just add it to my Tab.
Thirty days later, I received my VISA statement, and the
Neiman-Marcus Charge was $285.00!
I looked again, and I remembered I had only spent $9.95 for two
salads and about $20.00 for a scarf.
As I glanced at the bottom of the statement, it said,
'Cookie Recipe-$250.00.' That was outrageous! I called Neiman's
Accounting Department and told them the waitress said it was
'two-fifty', which clearly does not mean 'two hundred and fifty dollars'
by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase.
Neiman-Marcus refused to budge. They would not refund my money
because, according to them, 'What the waitress told you is not our
problem. You have already seen the Recipe. We absolutely will not refund
your money at this point.'
I explained to the Accounting Department lady the criminal
statutes which govern fraud in the State of Texas . I threatened to
report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney
General's office for engaging in fraud.. I was basically told, 'Do what
you want. Don't bother thinking of how you can get even, and don't
bother trying to get any of your money back.' I just said, Okay, you
folks got my $250, and now I'm going to have $250 worth of fun. I told
her that I was going to see to it that every Cookie Lover in the United
States with an e-mail account has a $250 cookie recipe from
Neiman-Marcus...for free. She replied, 'I wish you wouldn't do this.' I
said, 'Well, perhaps you should have thought of that before you ripped
me off and slammed down the phone.
So here it is!
Please, please, please pass it on to everyone you can possibly
think of.
I paid $250 for this, and I don't want Neiman-Marcus to EVER
make
another penny off of this recipe!
NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES (Recipe may be halved)
2 cups butter
24 oz. Chocolate chips
4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. Soda (baking)
1 tsp. Salt
2 cups sugar
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 eggs
2 tsp. Baking powder
2 tsp. Vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream
the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together
with
flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda . Add chocolate
chips,
hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches
apart
on a cookie Sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Makes 112 cookies.

a mothers love for ariel all grown up
Although you have read my blog about my daughter and her incident I did not get to express my feelings about the situation. Those who were around my daughter repeatedly asked her if they could call her mom, (ME).To my hearbroken surprise she told them NO. She did not want to bother or disturb me. When walking into the hotel there were lifeguards, paramedics, the fire rescue personnel, my daughters best friend Stephanie and her boyfriend dave along with daves mother. the feeling of being alone is so overwhelming there are no words that can be placed on the sorrow I felt. Here I was the mother of this sick child and I was the last person who was called to the scene. For this I feel failure in teaching my children important contact information through the years. For this I feel I am not a good mother. But most of all for this I feel that she does not trust my judgment and does not want me to be there when she is sick or hurting,. Now I am the one hurting inside. NO medic, rescue team or friend can mend a mothers broken heart. The person who can mend it is the only person who broke it. We parents do so much for our families and in their lives. We rarely ask for anything in return. But to be disregarded, disrespected and notified last about your childs immediate medical care, well; the care of our childrens health makes being a mom obsolete. The one thing all moms know that we can fix with a smile, a bandage or a soft rock back and forth are no longer options for healing the wounds of our children, It sometimes seems we try to hold onto our children longer by letting them know how much we do love and care about them. I guess my days of being a mom are gone. I am sorry to see them go. They were some of the best years of my life and I will cherish them forever.

I wanted to shout out a word of praise for this magnificent place. Tonight I had the privilege of seeing first hand what care and concern a water park has for its customers. Tonight my daughter was whisked away from her fun and activities because she started to have difficulties breathing. The quick wit of the staff members such as Dave Davidson, Michael Robinson and Matt the night supervisor prevented what could have been a mothers worse nightmare.
I received the call around 8:30 that my daughter had been unable to breath and she was being attended to by paramedics on the scene. She had been playing DDR a popular game with upbeat songs that teenagers and many people alike enjoy at outings. I was told she and the others were finishing up their game when her breathing became shallow and unsteady. This is when the quick skill of the staff came to the rescue. These men worked diligently to get my daughter to safety and remained calm when a medical emergency arose during her visit to the water park. They carefully assessed the situation at hand and made her comfortable outside of the activity area to help control her breathing.
Dave Davidson, the two other life guards and the manager on duty Matt determined that she was in need of additional medical assistance outside of what they could provide. At this point they called 911 for assistance. I was met at the door by Daves concerned mother and her best friend Stephanie Braker. All people who were involved became concerned for my daughters safety and kept close to her at all times.
I personally would like to thank the Waterbury Fire and rescue department along with the ambulance service who came to the water park to aide in my daughters health . I am happy to know that we have men and women who respond so quickly to a situation. As a mother I could never express the sincere gratitude to everyone.

{ariel won the ddr competition in case you were wondering.} This will definitely not be her last visit to this water park she plans on going again soon and enjoying the water park with her friends. Ariel stated, "I would come back and do it all again because I know if it happened again I would have plenty of staff members around to help me, but I think I will stay away from ddr for awhile."
A special thanks of gratitude to those men/women at the water park who stayed later to fill out all of the necessary paperwork. You are all top rate employees and I hope your employer knows how valuable each and every one of you are to the overall performance of the water park and hotel.

Today I went to pick up my daughters computer and was shocked when I got home. The computer screen was a lower resolution than her original one. The cost of the repair was almost as much as the price of the computer itself. Labor charges were as much as the screen replacement. What happened to being fair and honest to the customer? What happened to good business practices? Apparently what everyone wants in an experienced Computer Rearing world is not what we get. Be careful when you purchase service plans or buyer plans from top name companies. They talk fast, ring you up fast and before you know it you are spending as much for the service plan as you did for the computer. But beware if you don't look carefully at your service plan you may be in for a rather horrific shock when something breaks down and you need to have it repaired. Be sure you find out specifically what the plan covers and make the associate walk you through the plan before you sign on the dotted line. Not all plans are as appealing as the associate makes them out to be.
What you can expect is to be disgruntled. You can expect a line to form because they only have one squad person waiting on customers at any given time. You can also expect less than perfect service because you are simply a price tag.

Beagles are a womans best friend
Some people think a dog is simply another creature that guards your home and property. Not mine. He is extra large but has a heart of gold. Hunter was my christmas present 8years ago and I cherish every day I get to spend with him. He not only is a good friend, but a loyal one too.
He takes excellent pictures and loves to pose for the camera.
He is the perfect Gift for any occasion. He is everything you could want in a friend and pet.
Pirates are everywhere
Most people want to be a pirate, some even wish they could join up with a crew of misfits who walk around acting like crazy people and get away with it. Say no more. You have come to the right place if you like the antics of pirating and shiver me timbers. I have banned with a group of people called the Free Men of The Sea. The group is made up of Men, Women, Children of all sizes. They have one thing in common and that's to get the word out about pirating and the ways of pirating. Anyone who enjoys watching the Box Office hits which include The Pirates of the Caribbean will surely enjoy this video of our crew.

He was probably even at the same party as me.
Why do people drink? It can completely ruin your entire life.
I am feeling very sharp pains now, and it feels just like a knife.
The guy who was drinking and hit me is now walking away, I don't think its fair.
I am the one laying here dying, and all he can do is stare.
Please tell my brother, sister, friends and family to be brave, And when I got to heaven, Please have them inscribe: "My Sweetest Little Angel " on my grave.
Someone should have told him; not to drink and drive,
Then I would not be lying here, wondering when I will die.
My breath is getting shorter now, I am becoming very scared.
Please do not cry for me, because when I needed you, you were always there.
I have just one last question, before I say goodbye.
I didn't drink and drive, so why am I the one to die.
To all my friends and family: Please be careful during prom and any other special event. Our children and loved ones are on the road with you. We want them to come home safely.
