Civil War ReEnactment

If you ever wonder what its like to be part of the Wild Wild West you don't need to travel far. Most re-enactment events happen in the mid to late summer into the fall season. Here in Connecticut you can witness history relived for a few dollars on the penny. Enjoy the ambiance of the days past come to life. The history tellers on site and the re-enactors make the event fun for all ages. Woodbury Connecticut held a historical re-enactment of the Civil War the weekend of August 15, 2009. There were many things to see along with Militia riding into battle, you could see the smoke from the cannons and the guns as they fired on the enemy. Alongside the infantry were the riders who accompanied the generals. You could get your photo taken on a tin type of material. Very authentic for the period. One could even walk up to the Wheel driven carriages to see them first hand, not to mention the ability to walk around the encampments to visit the soldiers.
